What is a safelist?
A safelist is one of those handy "guru" secret weapons, that most of them will never talk about. They allow affiliate marketers to instantly have access to sending hundreds of thousands of emails out to recipients without having to already have your own list. Also known as viral mailers, or traffic exchanges, safelists are a form of email marketing that is sent out by a list owner and not yourself. You may be thinking, "this sounds a lot like a solo ad, so what's the difference?"
The difference is that the people on the list are not people who have bought or asked about opportunities or affiliate offers. Instead they people on these lists have are marketers themselves, who run online business and the reason they signed up is to be part of the safelist themselves. Another difference is, the safelist operator always is the one sending your emails from their end. It is all self service though unlike solo ads, you write your copy, subject, body, etc. Then you preview it and click send. All on their website. Which brings us to the main reason they are called "Safelists." It keeps your domain safe from SPAM complaints.
So just by joining a safelist, you become eligible to send your email message to all of the other members which means you will also be receiving all of the other member's offers in your email. You can advertise for free by earning credits for viewing emails of other members. Through this method, there is huge potential to gain leads for your own offers to build your list and to even make sales, but wait it even gets better.
After you have seen the effectiveness of these traffic exchange systems, most safelists allow you to upgrade to a paid account giving you access to thousands of recipients and without having to view other offers to receive credits. Some of the safelists have a few thousand names and some have hundreds of thousands.
It doesn't take long to build a portfolio of safelists that you have daily access to. Before you know it you could be sending out 500,000 emails per day or even 1,000,000 emails per day. Keep in mind that many of these buyers (usually a large percentage of them) are paid members meaning, you are emailing tons of buyers!
I use a handful of safelists for the business which I will list below. They have become my personal favorites. The owners of these companies have been in the internet marketing world for many, many years and are a true joy to deal with.
Some of the sites look pretty dated and it's because they are. But it makes no difference because your email recipients are receiving the message directly in there in box. I'm guessing the site owners don't really care about aesthetics that much since their members know the systems work so well.
Go ahead and try for yourself. Use the free memberships first and test it out. If you like them like I did, then only upgrade when you prove them worthwhile. Here is a list of my personal favorites that I use I use and consider to be the best email safelists, I will add more here as I test and prove their effectiveness.
Cheers,
Kent
